Who We Are

We are ancient. We were here when the first stone of the first castle was laid. We've watched mortal empires rise and crumble to dust. We are the Fae Courts. Summer and Winter. Light and Dark. Growth and Decay.

We exist outside your mortal politics, your wars, your fleeting passions. But we acknowledge power when we see it - and the Celestial Court commands respect even from us. Ashley and Trystane's arrival... changed things. Their divine authority is absolute. Even the Fae bow to that.

Still, we make bargains that span centuries. We hold grudges that outlast bloodlines. We play games mortals don't understand.

Want our help? Be careful what you wish for. Want our favor? Be careful what you promise. Want to understand us? You can't. You're mortal. You think in years. We think in ages.

But sometimes... we find mortals interesting. And when we do, we play.

The Two Courts

Summer Court (Seelie)

Light fae, growth magic, beautiful and terrible. The Summer Court brings warmth, life, and passion - but their beauty can burn, their gifts can overwhelm, and their joy can turn to wrath in an instant. They favor bold mortals, grand gestures, and bargains made in daylight.

Winter Court (Unseelie)

Dark fae, decay magic, cold and merciless. The Winter Court brings endings, rest, and harsh truths. They are patient where Summer is impulsive, calculating where Summer is passionate. They favor cunning mortals, whispered deals, and bargains made in shadow.

Our Nature

  • Primal magic that predates mortal spellcasting
  • Glamours that make reality bow to whim
  • Nature manipulation - forests obey us
  • Bargains that MUST be honored (by both sides)
  • Time flows differently in our realm
  • Rules you don't understand until you break them

Our History

History is for mortals. We simply ARE.

But if you insist: We watched your Great War with interest. Rhaenor's tyranny? We've seen mortal tyrants before. The Celestial Court's arrival? That was... significant. Divine beings descending to fulfill prophecy doesn't happen often. Even the Fae pay attention when gods walk among mortals.

We acknowledge their authority. We respect their power. But we remain what we are - Fae, bound by our own ancient laws and nature.

Your politics? Still entertaining, like watching children play at kingdom-building - but now with divine oversight. Changes the game, doesn't it?

Sometimes we aid mortal causes. Sometimes we hinder them. Our reasons are our own, but we're careful not to cross the Celestial Court. The Summer Court might bless your crops... or curse your firstborn if you offend them. The Winter Court might grant you power... with a price you won't understand until it's too late.

We keep our bargains. ALL of them. The letter of the agreement, if not the spirit. Learn to phrase your deals carefully.

Roleplay in the Fae Courts

This is dangerous RP. You're not bound by mortal morality. You honor your word, but you interpret it through fae logic. You're beautiful and terrifying. You can be helpful or harmful, sometimes both at once.

  • Fae noble playing games with mortals
  • Trickster making bargains with hidden costs
  • Nature spirit protecting ancient groves
  • Changeling caught between fae and mortal worlds
  • Court ambassador to mortal politics (when it amuses you)
  • Hunter tracking those who break fae law
  • Enchanter weaving glamours that reshape reality
  • Agent of Summer or Winter in eternal seasonal conflict
  • Ancient being watching mortal lives like mayflies

The Warning

Do not mistake our beauty for kindness.

Do not mistake our laughter for friendship.

Do not mistake our bargains for charity.

We are the Fae. We are Other. We are eternal.

And we do not forgive insults.

Welcome to the Courts... if you dare. Welcome to the Fae.

[OOC NOTE]: Playing Fae requires understanding of folklore and fae bargain rules. Consult with Court leadership before creating characters. Fae characters operate on different moral frameworks - they keep their word absolutely but may interpret agreements in unexpected ways. This creates unique RP opportunities but requires careful communication with other players OOC to ensure everyone has fun.
